OUR TRAINING FACILITY
Our training facility is located on a 5-acre ranch in South Dade with a complete United States Police Canine Association obstacle course, Vehicles, property and buildings are set up for proper detection training and we have hundreds of acres surrounding us with plenty of open areas for searching.
We are licensed by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Alcohol. Tobacco and Firearms.
Has 4 full time canine instructors and 3 part time canine instructors.
Is a training facility dedicated in training law enforcement officers for preparation in competitions such as the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA).
Is a certified training facility for the Miami Dade Police Department K9 Unit.
Is a certified evaluation facility for the IFRI - FIU Narcotic and Explosive canine teams.
Is a certified training facility for training canine teams in Obedience, Protection, Narcotics or Explosives,
Agility, Tracking and proper canine handling for preparation of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement certification program.
Handler and Canine Training and Certification
Narcotic Detection Both the Handler and canines go through a twelve week, 480 hour training course.
Our narcotic trained canines are trained to detect cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, crystal methamphetamine, ecstasy and marijuana. Upon successfully completing the course both the Handler and Canine are certified by a team of evaluators through IFRI
Explosive Detection
Both the Handler and canines go through a fourteen week, 560 hour training course. Our explosive canines are trained to detect black powder, smokeless powder, C4, TNT, nitrate and detonating cord. Upon successfully completing the course both the Handler and Canine are independently certified by evaluators through IFRI
We do not cross-train our dogs. Dogs that are cross-trained can never be 100% reliable, especially passive alert dogs. In the event a cross-trained dog alerts, the Handler can never be 100% sure what substance the dog is alerting to. This exposes the company and the client to a high degree of liability.
All of our Handlers have either law enforcement or military backgrounds. We also employ off-duty Police K-9 officers. Due to the nature of the business and the intelligence that we will be exposed to it is imperative that we maintain high ethical standards and absolute integrity in our Handlers.
